I wanted to bake more bar cookies for the medieval event last weekend, but I ran out of time. I do want to make this for the kids with thinner chocolate and caramel, so I’m starting again.
I doubled the shortbread recipe, used a larger pan, and accidentally baked it at 350 for 50 minutes instead of turning the temp down to 300. I punched in the temp, but apparently didn’t push the “start” button to get it to lower. Sigh.
Luckily, my husband said he liked it that way. Who knew?
I made one batch of the caramel, which was great, except I over-cooked it.
I made a batch of the chocolate ganache but it didn’t seem like enough, so I made more. Then it was too much. Sigh.
Still can’t get anyone to eat it. Frustrating.
